3 Steps To Starting Your First Internet Business

Posted by Jjarrett in Home Business

It may not seem the ideal time to start a business. After all, we’re constantly being told that the economy is in trouble and that we’re moving into a recession.

However, I believe this is the best time to start a business. There is always room for growth in the economy. Businesses are what make it grow.

Even if you’re just looking for extra money to pay your car payment or provide extra money for your family, an internet business is an easy way to do it. Who knows? Eventually your income from your business might replace your job and you can say goodbye to the 9 to 5 forever.

If you want to start a business, whether it’s a tough economy or not, there are certain things you need to do first. Here’s how to get started:

1. Create a plan for starting your business.

This doesn’t have to be anything complicated. You can use a notebook to record all of your information. The importance of proper planning can’t be stressed enough.

Start by writing down things like what kind of business you want to start. Will you offer your own products or someone else’s? Do you have a skill, like writing, that might make a good business? Will you build a website, or will you use bum marketing techniques to market your business?

Don’t forget to include your topic here. Do you have a hobby that might translate to a business? There are thousands of hobbies, from gardening to fly fishing, that people want to know about.

Assess your skills and find out what you need to learn and learn it BEFORE you do take the next step. If you’ve never built a website or written promotional copy, now is the time to learn it, not after you’ve thrown away money because you didn’t know what you were buying.

Read as many articles and ebooks as you can to learn how to do these things. Again, if money is tight, look at free giveaways to help you find what you need to learn, or search for free ebooks on the topic you are weak in and learn as much as you can.

2. Invest in essential tools.

If you plan to build a website, you’ll need hosting and a domain name. Autoresponders are another essential tool you’ll want to consider. If you’re starting out on a shoestring, you may want to consider investing in an autoresponder script.

You may need to learn how to install scripts yourself, especially if you are working on a tight shoestring budget. Don’t sweat it. Just buy a good general domain, which will cost you about nine dollars, and the best hosting you can afford.

Don’t spend money on anything you don’t have to. Before you buy anything for your business, ask yourself: “Will this ebook, software, etc. contribute to the overall growth of my business?” Only buy what you really need.

3. Create an effective marketing plan.

What I like about the internet is all of the free marketing opportunities available. This is also the area in which most people, and most companies, fail during tough economic times. They don’t market, or they don’t market enough.

If anything, this is the time to market more. Again, consider your skills here. For example, if you like forums, learn everything you can about forum marketing and then commit to spending a certain amount of time doing it every day. Commit to a certain number of posts.

The same applies with articles, free classifieds, press releases, and other types of free marketing. Commit a certain amount of time every day to it and then do it. Market every opportunity you get.

In spite of tough economic times, now is the time to start and grow a business. Do your homework, create a plan, and execute that plan. You will succeed.

There Is Always Money To Be Made On The Internet

Posted by KristiAmbrose in Business Opportunities

You just have to know where to look, who to talk to and what processes to use. Now if you look on the Internet right now for money systems or money generators, chances are you will see about 20 million results. But which is the best? Which is the worst? Do these things really work? First and foremost an important part of joining any business, service, company or system, is to look up reviews on the site. This can easily be done by going to your favorite search engine and looking for the site at hand and ending that link with the word “reviews.” Now remember when looking up a site be sure to add the http:// and the extension as well. Now some of the sites I’m going to list below aren’t “systems” so to speak but, they are ways to generate income online, or even better yet residual income, which is something all of us are shooting for!

My Great Empire -
This is a site related to the GDI system, now I have never personally tried the GDI system but, I know of friends who have and it has worked for them, so don’t count this site out just yet. Go take a look at it and at least sign up for the free information. Building a massive action driven GDI team beneath you has never been easier. Not only will you notice a much higher opt in ratio, but an increased GDI sign up ratio as well. Every opt in you get through your MyGreatEmpire affiliate link, will receive approximately 12 followup emails in a period of 30 days. This is a website made for users that want to receive opt-in leads with the system.

Cash Making Power Sites -
Another great money maker, this site is a program you can purchase and you will in turn receive some really great information about the top 5 sites you can earn money from, easily and quickly. This is another very legit site, and I have actually tried this one and it has worked for me quite well. Now this might either be a pro or a con for you personally, for me it was a pro, but the more I learn and the more I read, the more I earn each month. The first month it was just a few hundred bucks, but now I’m on month 2 and the highest I earned was a little over $1500. Another great thing about this system is its automated, and who doesn’t love automated sites! I know I do!

Instant Cash Generators -
This site is a little contradicting, it says you can earn “instant” cash. This isn’t really the case, but its pretty darn close to instant. This is a more of a “advice” type site. You buy their program and they teach you all kinds of different ways to earn money such as flipping websites, selling domain names, profit from outsourcing, creating niche websites, getting traffic to your sites and much more. These advice reports come in articles, emails, videos, etc. Nice little site I found a few weeks ago, haven’t made the jump yet but, I have heard really good things about it, so go check it out!

Of course there’s hundreds if not thousands more to check out, but these are definitely my top three for being honest, legit and having good reviews. Another nice thing about the last two sites is once you pay, you get immediate access in the members area. The first site I listed, doesn’t have a members area but you will be sent emails with tons of information! I haven’t signed up with GDI as said earlier but, I did sign up for the free information and I gotta say the guy who owns that site K.Braun should be charging people like me for information like that because it’s incredibly valuable to both you and me.

The Buyers Guide To Artificial Trees

Posted by Alexstacey in Business

Why buy an artificial tree? One reason should be enough: it saves you from all the maintenance required to keep a real tree, without compromising on the aesthetic department!

You will never have to worry about watering it, supplying the right kind of fertilizer, or making sure it gets the required amount of sunlight; all you have to do is dust it from time to time. Isn’t that every tree-lover’s most cherished dream?

If you need more reason to be convinced about going for an artificial tree, how about the fact that it will also never require the tedious task of trimming, which you have to keep doing to your real trees, to prevent them from overgrowing your home? It will also free you from climactic restrictions of botany, letting you have a palm tree in your home in Alaska as easily as you might have a conifer in Hawaii.

Artificial trees that you get these days look almost as real as a live tree. But if you want something truly awesome, check out what is called a preserved tree. Artificial trees are generally made of plastic and other synthetic material, but a preserved tree, in contrast, is made by assembling natural materials around an empty trunk. The look is stunningly authentic, and your guests won’t be able to distinguish it from a live tree by either touch or smell.

The most common of artificial trees is the palm. An artificial palm tree can come in all types, shapes, and sizes, both synthetic and preserved. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you pick the one best for you:

1. You can have either a floor plant or a full-size tree. The height of a floor plant varies between two and four feet. A full-size tree will begin from five feet, and can go up to as high as you want.

Table fake palm trees fall under floor plants, but they are generally small versions of the full-sized tree. The size of this will be approximately three feet. These look the best on a table, but can also be put at an entry way or a reception area with limited space. While buying, these will come in a basic basket or pot, but you can add to the aesthetic effect by replacing the pot with a large decorative planter. Cover the top with artificial greenery like moss or grass.

Full-sized artificial palm trees come both with a pot and without. You can order any size, though the most popular size is from five to six feet. Both potted and un-potted trees can be put in a decorative planter. For an un-potted tree, a nice touch will be surrounding the trunk with decorative rock. A large tree will have more space around the trunk, so let your creativity run wild as you fill this up with greenery.

2. Most of us might be unaware of this but palm trees (in reality) come in many different species, so you get a number of different types of artificial varieties as well. Of these, the Areca Palm and the Coconut Palm are the most popular. It’ll help to do some research on the way you want your palm to look before ordering that artificial tree.

3. The Christmas tree is probably the first artificial tree to be made. Artificial Christmas trees these days don’t only look incredibly realistic, but also come in completely decorated versions. For example, you can buy a pre-lit tree that already has the lights set up on it, or you can have one fixed with glitter and/or snow in the branches. The best type of pre-lit tree available is the fiber optic tree.

The needles in this tree are made of the same material as fiber optic lights, so you’ll never need to replace a bulb or worry that the lights may get too hot for safety. If you are bored with your Christmas tree being always green, you can even look for trees in all colors from white to purple and blue.

Buy artificial trees, including palm trees, bamboo trees, topiary and ficus trees at low prices and next day delivery.

Increasing Corporate Event Production Through Budget Planning

Posted by Charmen in Business

Some businesses make the mistake of spending substantial amounts of money on corporate event production only to discover they didn’t receive the ROI they had expected to receive with the gathering. Their biggest mistake is not tailoring their budget to match the occasion. This balance ensures that you get the most effect for every dollar you spend, whether it is improved relations, information retention, or direct financial gain.

Define The Financial Framework

Whether you choose an event coordination expert or opt to set the event up yourself, the first step is determining the budget. This should include the total dollar amount available to spend on the occasion and the goals you wish to achieve with the event itself. The most important thing to remember is to be reasonable. If your celebration will include a thousand attendees, a thousand dollar budget isn’t likely to be adequate. It probably wouldn’t be a positive and successful event either. The key is to balance money and need rather than extreme dollar amounts.

Distinguish Between Need And Want

For a shareholder meeting, spending a large portion of the budget on entertainment and decoration isn’t likely the wisest use of your corporate event production budget. Compare the list of ‘needs’ for the occasion and decide which items are necessary for the event and mark which items are unneeded luxuries. One example of this is venue choices. Select one that matches the size and purpose of the event rather than penny-pinching and going too small or overspending on one that is too large.

Decorations and the portion of the budget set aside for this purpose will depend on the actual event as well. There should be more decorating and a higher budget for gatherings such as celebrations of achievements. For a basic meeting, increase the amount in your corporate event production financing for the venue. This will allow you to select a location that already has the ideal quality of decor and eliminates the strain rented decor items can place on your finances. It will also increase your ROI by transferring attendee’s attention from the space to the speaker and the information presented.

Focus On The Goal

When considering every element you wish to include in the occasion, be sure each builds on the purpose of the event to get the most out of the dollars you spend. To introduce a new service, for example, video, audio, and lighting would be a good investment. These things increase the excitement and attention the service that would be difficult to achieve otherwise.

Another great money saving tip is to find a venue that has the needed equipment and space to avoid having to pay for these things over and above the primary cost. This is particularly true when the corporate event production involves an important business meeting. In this case, things such as presentation needs, communication equipment, and other services, such as catering, may be a significant benefit.

Corporate event production, whether it is on your own or with the help of an expert, requires in depth consideration and thought to achieve goals and get the best ROI possible. Determine the guidelines for your event and ensure every dollar you spend enhances the overall goals. You will spend less and will achieve the desired results, giving you a successful and memorable event for all.

Attracting Your Perfect Clients For Business Opportunities

Posted by Johnameatte in Network Marketing

Depending on the type of business you are involved in, the perfect client varies greatly. However, the basic image of what makes the perfect overall client is the same for all of us. So, what traits does your perfect client have?

What Makes a Perfect Client or Customer?

When you picture your ideal client, you are imagining the one person that you just love working with. This is the client who gives you the best and most attractive business opportunities. This client possesses the following attributes:

* Values your services
* Values your time
* Respects you
* Trusts you with their best interests
* Has realistic expectations
* Pays your worth
* Is honest, intelligent and sincere

Don’t we all wish we had a pool of wonderful customers just like this? This kind of customer recharges the passion you have for what you do. This customer gives you back what those difficult customers drain from you. So, how do you go about finding more perfect clients to increase your business opportunities?

Finding the Perfect Client or Customer

The key to making sure you are only attracting those customers which you consider perfect for you lies in being sure they meet certain criteria during your initial meeting with them. Make a list of answers to the following questions for each potential client.

* What qualities does my perfect client possess?
* What makes this person tick?
* What should this person expect from me?
* What am I doing to make myself and my services more attractive to this client?

Traits of the Perfect Client or Customer

The perfect client is well-funded. Find out ahead of time what your potential client’s monthly marketing budget is. Be sure to ask them what their level of comfort is in losing money at the beginning. How much money are they willing to risk to build their business?

The perfect client has available resources. Find out ahead of time who your contact person will be in dealing with your new client and how much clout that person has within the company. Be sure to ask if additional resources will be available and accessible as well.

The perfect client has technological resources. Technology is the basis for any web-based business. Unfortunately, many potential clients are relatively clueless when it comes to knowing and obtaining the technological resources they need to accomplish what they want to. If they do not have systems in place for managing the technological aspect of the business, find out how willing they are to do what it takes to get this aspect of the business up and running. If you have to, get them enrolled in a free online training workshop to get them on their way.

The perfect client has a positive attitude. A Can-Do attitude from your client is the difference between contented success and miserable failure. One way to determine whether or not the potential client has the attitude you want is to have a brainstorming session with them. Make suggestions and advise them about possibilities and risks that go along with any new ventures you are discussing. If the client is looking at things from a realistic perspective and is getting excited about the whole process, that’s a good sign.

The perfect client understands the value of a good multi-level marketing plan. Marketing comes first and takes the majority of time in a business, especially in the infant stages. Be sure the client is willing to re-invest profits toward additional marketing and business building. There are free online workshops to help them develop this plan.

The perfect client is willing to make a long term commitment to a strategic multi-level marketing plan. Discuss realistic time lines with your potential client. Be sure they realize that a successful marketing plan takes time and energy. Immediate results will not happen, so the client who expects the quick profit is a headache and a waste of your time.

It may not feel right to ask such questions of a new client. But, remember this. You are putting your time and energy into developing a winning multi-level marketing plan for this new client. The client must be willing to put forth time and money for the long haul to make it worth their while and yours to pursue the project. To learn more about finding the perfect client, contact a specialist in the field of multi-level marketing. Many of the best ones offer free online training workshops to give you the assistance you need.

6 Common Reasons IT Projects Fail

Posted by Globalsourceyourit in Project Management

Many outsourcing companies have created beneficial outsourcing relationships with vendors. Unfortunately, there are the occasional projects that fail to meet deadlines or criteria set forth by the outsourcers. When a project does fail, there are usually numerous reasons and not just one underlying cause.

Lack of outsourcing strategy
The outsourcing company must take the time to formulate a strategy for handling outsourced projects. Working with vendors in other countries can create even more complications, which just shows the importance of having a plan. Managers must consider how the process will be managed and must set expectations for the projects. Sometimes outsourcing companies do not adequately prepare for the administration of projects. Management should clarify how global sourcing will be implemented and effectively communicate the strategy to the internal IT department and the vendor.

Miscalculated time involved
Outsourcing companies often do not realize the amount of time it will take to get a project in operation with a vendor. Some outsourcers take a “hands off” approach, meaning they do not feel that they have to be involved once the project is sent to the vendor. That thought process can be damaging to the project. It takes time and effort to transfer technical and business knowledge to the vendor. Once the transfer is made, hours will be spent maintaining the business relationship. The outsourcing company and the vendor will also have to coordinate between the team members to ensure that everyone understands project specifications and deadlines.

Cost-reduction expectation was not realistic
One of the most common reasons that companies look to outsourcing is to reduce costs. Although outsourcing does provide cost reduction, outsourcing companies frequently have unrealistic expectations regarding the initial savings. Even though labor costs may be lower, there are other hidden costs that can cause a project to go over budget. The longer the outsourcing relationship continues, the higher the savings. However, most outsourcers do not realize this fact. Consequently, a project can be unsuccessful if an accurate budget was not put in place.

Communication barriers
Communication is more than just language. Global sourcing can be complex as outsourcers and vendors face issues of time zones and locations. These challenges can make it very difficult to communicate crucial information in a timely manner. Communication barriers are frequently to blame when it comes to a project’s failure. If team members can not effectively communicate the project status, concerns or ask questions, it can negatively impact an IT project. A communication plan can overcome this obstacle.

The vendor was incompetent
Various criteria should be considered when choosing a vendor. If price is the main motivating factor, there is a risk of choosing the wrong one. A low-cost vendor most likely will not provide the same quality of work as another vendor who may charge more. That is why cost should not be the only consideration when choosing a service provider. A vendor should be evaluated on multiple areas, such as trained personnel, technology and processes. A thorough analysis of the vendor will allow the outsourcer to have a good sense of what to expect.

Differences in culture
Cultural differences can impact a project. If the outsourcer is unfamiliar with the culture of the vendor, potential problems and miscommunication can occur. Cultural differences include religion, mode of dress, social activities and work ethic. Even the way a question is answered can differ depending on the culture. Cultural obstacles can be overcome by taking measures to clearly outline project specifications and encourage feedback from the vendor.

A project can fail for a combination of reasons. However, by understanding why projects fail, outsourcers can plan ahead to avoid potential problems.
