3 Steps To Starting Your First Internet Business

Posted by Jjarrett in Home Business

It may not seem the ideal time to start a business. After all, we’re constantly being told that the economy is in trouble and that we’re moving into a recession.

However, I believe this is the best time to start a business. There is always room for growth in the economy. Businesses are what make it grow.

Even if you’re just looking for extra money to pay your car payment or provide extra money for your family, an internet business is an easy way to do it. Who knows? Eventually your income from your business might replace your job and you can say goodbye to the 9 to 5 forever.

If you want to start a business, whether it’s a tough economy or not, there are certain things you need to do first. Here’s how to get started:

1. Create a plan for starting your business.

This doesn’t have to be anything complicated. You can use a notebook to record all of your information. The importance of proper planning can’t be stressed enough.

Start by writing down things like what kind of business you want to start. Will you offer your own products or someone else’s? Do you have a skill, like writing, that might make a good business? Will you build a website, or will you use bum marketing techniques to market your business?

Don’t forget to include your topic here. Do you have a hobby that might translate to a business? There are thousands of hobbies, from gardening to fly fishing, that people want to know about.

Assess your skills and find out what you need to learn and learn it BEFORE you do take the next step. If you’ve never built a website or written promotional copy, now is the time to learn it, not after you’ve thrown away money because you didn’t know what you were buying.

Read as many articles and ebooks as you can to learn how to do these things. Again, if money is tight, look at free giveaways to help you find what you need to learn, or search for free ebooks on the topic you are weak in and learn as much as you can.

2. Invest in essential tools.

If you plan to build a website, you’ll need hosting and a domain name. Autoresponders are another essential tool you’ll want to consider. If you’re starting out on a shoestring, you may want to consider investing in an autoresponder script.

You may need to learn how to install scripts yourself, especially if you are working on a tight shoestring budget. Don’t sweat it. Just buy a good general domain, which will cost you about nine dollars, and the best hosting you can afford.

Don’t spend money on anything you don’t have to. Before you buy anything for your business, ask yourself: “Will this ebook, software, etc. contribute to the overall growth of my business?” Only buy what you really need.

3. Create an effective marketing plan.

What I like about the internet is all of the free marketing opportunities available. This is also the area in which most people, and most companies, fail during tough economic times. They don’t market, or they don’t market enough.

If anything, this is the time to market more. Again, consider your skills here. For example, if you like forums, learn everything you can about forum marketing and then commit to spending a certain amount of time doing it every day. Commit to a certain number of posts.

The same applies with articles, free classifieds, press releases, and other types of free marketing. Commit a certain amount of time every day to it and then do it. Market every opportunity you get.

In spite of tough economic times, now is the time to start and grow a business. Do your homework, create a plan, and execute that plan. You will succeed.

Taking Steps To Financial Freedom

Posted by Writerros in Home Business

What steps are you taking towards finding financial freedom? Slow steps, careful steps, stumbling steps, quick steps? Foxtrot? The truth is, if you are taking any kind of steps to financial freedom, you need to be sure of where and how you are placing your feet.

When people first contemplate running an online home based business, sometimes all they can think of is the money they are going to make. Many of them do not stop to think about the steps they need to take in order to make this money, but instead take a huge leap into the unknown without knowing what they are doing. Consequently, most of them will either fall flat on their face when they trip over the first hurdle, or fall down the gaping hole that they did not see beneath them.

Somebody once said, “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. We then have to get there one step at a time.

If you are flat broke and want to be a millionaire, you have got quite a lot of mileage to cover. You are not going to be rich by just signing up to the first affiliate marketing program you find and hoping for the best.

However, if you plan your journey well, choose the best route and take one step at a time, you will get there. During your journey you may have to push yourself at times to make those steps, but on your way you will meet some interesting people and learn much about yourself and the world around you.

When you plan a journey, you would probably look at a map. You would look at where you are now, and where you want to get to, and then decide the best way of getting there. But you always have to start from where you are now.

This is the same with any life goal. You have to look at where you are right now, and what it is going to take to arrive at your goal.

When starting an internet business, you need to be aware of what resources you already have (your budget, your skills, your time etc), and then decide what you need to take you from where you are to the next stage of your journey.

Your first step, therefore, might be deciding how much money you can afford to spend on your business monthly. Your next step will probably be to decide what you are going to sell, and which programs you want to join as an affiliate. This needs careful consideration as it is important that you like the products and services you are selling, and that they feel right for you.

Next, you will need to start learning about internet marketing. This will include setting up a website that is keyword optimised, learning how to write articles and blogs, submitting to directories, pay-per-click advertising, building a list and forum marketing, among others.

This sounds like a lot to learn but if you take it step by step, learning one thing at a time, you can make real progress with just one form of marketing for a while. When you feel confident in that one thing, you can move on to the next.

The steps to financial freedom may be many. They may sometimes to boring, difficult, and sometimes you may even get distracted away from the right path. However, if you don’t start that first step, you will never get there: just take it. Then take the next one, and the next one…

How To Make Money Online With Your Own Internet Business

Posted by Wsnet1 in Home Business

These days, the only way that you can truly secure your future is to start your own business and be your own boss. The days of starting a job right after high school or college, and finding security in that job are long gone. Furthermore, in today’s world, it’s hard to make ends meet when working for someone else.

For this reason, you may be thinking about starting your own business on the Internet. You have probably heard about Internet businesses raking in billions of dollars annually, and would love to have a piece of the pie. However, before you begin, make sure that you take some time to educate yourself about doing business online.

Selecting the Right Internet Business

One of the biggest reasons for failure, whether a business is online or offline, is that the business owner didn’t choose the right business for them. Specifically, they start a business in a field that they know little or nothing about. It is usually best to start a business in a field in which you already have some experience. However, you can also take advantage of a business opportunity where you will be taught how to build and market that business step-by-step by someone who has already done it.

Money will be very tight in the beginning, and unlike a traditional brick and mortar business, most people who are starting their own business on the Internet rarely borrow any start-up money. Instead, they generally keep their regular job, and build their business on the side, using money from their paychecks. You don’t need a fancy office or employees to get started, in most cases. Plan to do the work yourself, and only outsource that which you do not have the skill to do.

You must also realize that it takes time to build your business to the point where it is profitable. You aren’t going to become a millionaire overnight, in the next two weeks, or even in the next year - but realistically, you can have a profitable business running in as little as a few months, in most cases.

One of the best ways to get started online is with affiliate marketing, which is also referred to as referral programs. A referral program will enable you to earn commissions by selling someone else’s product. This is a great way to get started making money online and truly prepares you for doing business on the Internet.

Launching Your Internet Business Web Site

Once you’ve decided what type of business you would like to have, and what products you would like to sell, your next step will be to develop your web site. Your web site should look professional and be specifically designed to sell the products you’re marketing.

You must also develop a strategy in which to use your web site to sell your products. Although there are many ways you can do this, the easiest way to get started is by publishing a blog. A blog, which is short for web log, is a personal online journal that can be viewed by the public.

The author of a blog, referred to as a blogger (web logger), usually makes entries to the blog daily or weekly. These entries usually contain commentary on specific issues, helpful tips, information, or instructions with regard to the subject matter and recommended appropriate resources. This is where the products you’re marketing come in. You can take this opportunity to recommend products via affiliate links and make some sales.

The great thing about blogs is that they have the potential to create a lot of repeat traffic to your web site, as your readers will return each day to read your latest post. In addition, Search Engines love blogs, as they are loaded with valuable content and updated very frequently.

Visit Blogger to learn more and set up a free blog. Or, if you have a web site and would like to set up your own blog, visit WordPress.

Marketing Your Web Site and Products

Just as selecting the right business and products is a very important part of your success, your marketing strategy is just as important.

Your marketing strategy must include both short-term and long-term strategies in order to be successful.

Short-term marketing strategies will provide you with a temporary increase in traffic and must not be solely relied upon. Your short-term strategies may include: purchasing advertising, participating in targeted forums, search engines marketing, etc.

Long-term marketing strategies will provide you with a steady stream of traffic, which will continue over time - even years later. Your long-term strategies may include: building an opt-in list, blogging, social networking sites, social bookmarking sites, giving away branded items, such as software, writing and distributing content, such as articles, etc.

By using both short-term and long-term marketing strategies, you will increase your traffic significantly.

Conclusion

No matter what you decide to do online, your attitude will play a major role in your success. You must have a positive attitude and a sincere desire to succeed. You must also be highly motivated and be willing to work hard and take the necessary steps to make it happen.

Success is a choice - you can choose to not take any action and things will stay just as they are right now. Or, you can choose to take action and take the necessary steps to change your life. The choice is yours.

Does Your MLM Company Pass The Product Test?

Posted by Cleobird in Network Marketing

MLM, multi-level marketing, network marketing, etc, has gotten a bad wrap over the years. Originally designed to give the advertising budget of a product’s price to independent distributors instead of media corporations, many so called “companies” have sprung up over the years trying to imitate this success with a thinly veiled scam.

You see, there is such a thing in this world as a legitimate network marketing company. And there is also such a thing as an illegitimate pyramid scheme.

In a legitimate multi level marketing company, a product is being sold that is of value. It is usually, though not always, of a better quality than one could find in a typical store. This makes it sought after.

The product is typically a little higher in price than its retail counterparts, but is also typically worth the higher price. Distributors sell this product, as well as the distributorship opportunity, to earn income.

With a pyramid scheme, one of two things is wrong. Either there is no product whatsoever, or the product is worthless and completely overpriced. Instead of selling a product, distributors only sell an opportunity, with a product on the side.

To find out if the company you are thinking of getting involved with is a legitimate MLM or a scam, ask the following questions. If you have trouble coming up with the answers, ask someone close to you not already in the opportunity for a non-biased opinion.

Does the product have value?
The product or products that your company sells must have value. Though they are often slightly overpriced, they cannot be priced completely out of the market, and must be of better quality.

For instance, would you pay $20 for a box of paperclips? No. That would not have any value to you. The product that the marketing sells must be worth it.

Can you envision this product selling at a fair or convention?
Picture a booth at a flea market, farmer’s market, roadside stand or upscale convention. Will your product fit into some sort of festival?

Whether you are selling food items, candles, or some sort of service, your product needs to have a marketable venue. Those that do not will be very difficult to sell.

Would a distributor be able to make a living on product sales alone?
Is there a good enough commission on your products to be able to make a living strictly selling products? Is there a market for the products?

Or is the company’s commission plan based solely on recruiting, with sales as an afterthought. If you can’t sell the product, you can’t sell the opportunity.

If your product passes all these tests, then the company you are investigating is a sound one, and should warrant further consideration. If it does not, and you are basically selling an empty opportunity, run now, before you waste both your time and your money.

There are dozens if not hundreds of legitimate companies out there that will pass these tests. And for those that do, the opportunity can be a very worthwhile one.
