Tokyo closed higher while Sydney, Hong Kong, and Seoul were lower. Meanwhile, the U.S. stock market fell to its lowest level since early this year.
After a week of selling, the benchmark S&P 500 finished at 18.7% lower than its September 2022 peak.
The drop was a sign that investors remain concerned about the U.S. economy and tightening monetary policy.
